CEO & Partner
Alex has over 30 years experience in trading concentrates and metals.
Prior to AndCap, he was the commercial director and shareholder of Metco Suisse GmbH.
Alex has also been the head trader for Louis Dreyfus Commodities for the South American Region.
Also, he’s been in charge of the Lima office for MRI trading, Sudamin trading and Enron.
Alex started his career in New York, working for MG Metals NY, Pechiney WT & Minpeco USA.
He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University (USA).
CFO & Partner
Prior to AndCap, Claus worked as CFO for Metco Suisse GmbH.
Prior to Metco, he worked as Senior Investment Manager at RK Mine Finance.
Before joining RKMF, he was Managing Director and Head of Corporate Sales for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s LATAM Commodities Derivatives group.
Prior to BAML, he was Managing Director of the Commodity Derivatives Group at BNP Paribas in New York.
He spent his first 10 years in several positions in the physical trading business, including Metallgesellshaft AG and Enron Corp.
Claus holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University (USA) and an M.B.A. from the Babson Graduate School of Business (USA).
Partner
Alvaro has more than 25 years of experience in trading and marketing of nonferrous concentrates and metals.
Before co-founding AndCap, he was Senior Trader at Cliveden Trading of base and precious metal concentrates.
From 2010 until 2017, he was Global Head of Lead and Zinc concentrates for Transamine and from 2008 until 2010 he was Director of Transamine South Africa responsible for all the company’s African businesses.
Alvaro started his career at Asturiana/Xstrata Zinc where he held various commercial positions in concentrates, metals and by-products.
Alvaro holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business (Cum Laude).
CFO Switzerland
Roman Schwitzer is CFO Switzerland at Andes Capital Resources AG, with over 15 years of experience in commodity finance and corporate and investment banking. He specializes in strategic risk management and complex financing structures.
Previously, he was Director for Commodity Trading Clients at Credit Suisse (Schweiz) AG, advising corporate clients on financing solutions in the commodity sector. Before that, he led the finance division at Cliveden Trading AG, managing a large-scale commodity portfolio and structuring advanced cross-border financing arrangements.
Roman began his career at Credit Suisse and Sberbank, gaining expertise in trade finance, structured lending, and commodity markets, particularly energy, metals, and agriculture.
He holds an Executive MBA from IMD Business School and is recognized for his strategic leadership, financial acumen, and ability to build high-performing teams in global environments.
Trader
Javier’s experience within the commodities sector began 26 years ago in shipping and logistics at Naviera Minera del Golfo, Trafigura Mexico and the logistics branch of JP Morgan Chase Vastera.
From 2007 to 2012 he jointly managed the Structured Trade Finance LATAM team for Trafigura based in London and thereafter in their Geneva HQ. Prior to his current role at AndCap, Javier worked on business development, sourcing, and origination for various Swiss commodity traders such as Transamine Trading, Cliveden Trading and Arrow Metals for Latin America and Canada.
Javier holds a master’s degree from London Bayes Business School in Energy, Trade and Finance and a diploma from London Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers with a bachelor’s degree in finance administration from the TEC de Monterrey CCM.
Trader
Diego has more than 10 years of experience in trading and marketing of nonferrous concentrates and metals. Before joining AndCap, Diego was a Copper Trader at Cliveden Trading AG. Prior to that, he was an Operator at Transamine Trading SA. Diego holds a BBA from Boston University and Universidad CEU San Pablo.
Trader
Gonzalo Carnero is an Energy Trader at Andes Capital Resources AG focused on Light and Middle Distillates. Gonzalo joined the Firm in 2024 and has more than seven years of experience in international trade. Prior to Andes Capital, Gonzalo worked at PJT Partners, Morgan Stanley and ICAP in London. Gonzalo holds a Double Bachelor Degree in Law and Business Administration and Management (E-3) from Univerdad Pontificia Comillas, ICADE.
Trader
Andrea has more than 10 years of experience in commodities, working in operations and trading.
Before Andcap, she worked at Metco Suisse GmbH in operations and trading.
She started her mining career working at Southern Peru Copper Corporation in the Raw Materials Department.
Andrea has an MBA from INSEAD.
Trader
Santiago Navarro is a professional with a background in finance and business, currently associated with Andes Capital Resources AG, where he is involved in projects related to investment and business development.
He studied at the University of Lima and has built a career with a strategic focus, combining analytical thinking with experience across different corporate environments. His profile stands out for his adaptability and professional evolution, having made key decisions to redefine his career path after years of experience in demanding sectors.
Throughout his career, he has placed strong emphasis on building trusted relationships and generating long-term value—principles that are reflected both in his professional activity and in his publications.
His approach combines discipline, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a results-driven attitude, positioning him as a professional with strong potential in investment and corporate development.
Administration
Armando has more than 6 years of experience in the mining and metals industry.
He had the opportunity to work in both small-scale and large-scale mining operations.
His most recent experience was at Shougang Hierro Perú, where he was involved in the commercialization of iron concentrates to China and Japan. After three years in SHP, he joined Andes Capital in 2025.
Armando holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, with diplomas in Commercial Engineering and Project Management.
COO
Martha has more than 25 years’ experience in commodities, working in operations and trade finance.
Before Ancap, she was Senior Operations Manager at Altamira, Cliveden Trading and Senior operator at Transamine.
Marta started her carrier in the raw materials world at Asturiana/Xstrata Zinc where she held various back office and commercial positions in metal concentrates and by-products.
She has a master’s degree in International Trade; a degree in Law and she is an expert in European Tax Laws.
Consultant
Detlev has more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of the non-ferrous business. He is an industry expert in minerals and metals trading project development, risk management, logistics and business administration.
Detlev joined the AndCap team as a non-exec team member early 2023 and is using his wide industry knowledge for the business development of the group. For a number of years, he has been consulting to commodity companies and related industries as an independent advisor.
Prior to that has been global head of Zinc and Lead Trading of the Traxys Group.
Detlev Started his career at Marc Rich and Co AG in Zug and throughout his career worked for large and mid-size international trading houses, financial institutions and had assignments in the mining and smelting industry.
Accounting Manager
Mónica is a certified and registered Public Accountant, with diplomas in Finance and IFRS, and specializations in Taxation and Tax Law.
She has more than 13 years of experience managing Accounting and Finance areas in the financial, import, industrial and Oil & Gas sectors at a corporate level.
Operations Manager
I have over 15 years of experience in international trade and operation within the mining and metallurgical sector. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
I began my career in 2010 at Louis Dreyfus Perú in the Operations area. later joining 5N Plus, further strengthening her expertise in operational and commercial management.
For nearly a decade, I worked at Metco Trading SAC and Metco Trading SA de CV, leading international operations and specializing in contract structuring, documentary compliance, and strategic coordination with suppliers, inspection companies, and logistics operators.
Marlene has a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Operator
Víctor has more than six years of experience in logistics operations and supply chain management within the international trade and commodities sector.
He began his career at Altamira, where he worked for three years in a raw materials trading environment. He later worked as a Supply Chain Consultant at Indra, contributing for one year to logistics projects across Africa, and subsequently gained two years of experience in air logistics at Priority Freight.
Víctor holds a bachelor’s degree in Transport and Logistics Sciences, as well as an MBA specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Accountant
She has developed her professional career in the financial and administrative field, with experience in banking institutions, accounting firms, and public administration, specializing in accounting and financial management.
She began her career in the commodities sector with Andes Capital, where she is currently responsible for metals hedging through futures, as well as the associated banking and accounting operations.
Roxana holds a Double Degree in Business Administration and Law from Rey Juan Carlos University and a Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession from ISDE.
